Which Process Is Most Suitable For Your Small-Batch Project?

Our injection molds are typically fabricated using CNC machining or EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) processes. The components made for these molds include:

I Need 100 – 10,000 Production-Grade Plastic Parts

Applicable Scenarios Description:

Plastic parts.

Quantities of hundreds or more.

Prioritizing the lowest unit cost.

Requiring the final product’s engineering materials.

Market testing, crowdfunding, or small-scale launches.

We recommend Option A:

I Need 1 – 500 High-Precision Metal or Plastic Parts

Applicable Scenarios Description:

Metal or high-performance engineering plastic parts.

Production runs within hundreds of units.

Critical requirements for precision, strength, and durability.

Complex geometries that may require 5-axis machining.

Functional testing, tooling, jigs, or high-value end-use products.

We recommend Option B:

I Need to Quickly Obtain Several Prototypes

Applicable Scenarios Description:

Fast turnaround (within days).

Low volume (1-50 units).

Appearance validation, assembly testing, or design iteration.

Complex geometries unsuitable for traditional manufacturing.

Non-critical material properties (e.g., non-functional prototypes).

We recommend Option C:

Option A – Rapid Tooling & Low volume Injection Molding

When you need plastic parts with consistent appearance and performance in quantities less than 10,000 units, we recommend the rapid tooling + injection molding service process. This is also one of Logell Mold’s two core businesses, making it a reliable choice.

Solution Workflow

1. Analysis & Quotation
Engineers will analyze the 3D files you upload and provide a detailed quotation (including DFM analysis if required) within 24 hours.
2. Mold Design & Manufacturing
Mold designers will design the mold, and then the mold department will manufacture it using rapid tooling steel.
3. Mold Testing & Verification
The injection molding department will conduct the first mold test, and your project manager will send photos/videos of the parts for your confirmation.
4.  Low-Volume Production
After mold test confirmation, full low-volume injection molding production will be carried out using the corresponding materials.
5. Post-Processing & Quality Inspection
Post-processing such as gate removal, spraying, and silk-screening will be performed, and 100% inspection will be conducted to ensure quality.
6. Safe Delivery
Parts will be properly packaged and delivered to you via our global logistics network.

What We Can Deliver for You:

High Precision & Quality
The appearance and performance of the parts far exceed those of other rapid prototyping methods.
Unit Cost Optimization
We help you significantly reduce tooling investment.
Fast Time-to-Market
Deliver the first batch of usable parts within 3-5 weeks.

Option B – CNC Prototyping

When your project has stringent requirements for metal materials, extreme precision, and complex structures, and the quantity is less than 500 units, CNC prototyping is the optimal choice for low-volume production processes that balance flexibility and reliability.

Solution Workflow

1. Process Planning
CAM engineers will plan the optimal machining paths and fixture solutions for your parts.
2. Programming & Setup
Convert CAD files into codes recognizable by CNC machines, and prepare raw materials.
3. Precision Machining
Perform processes such as milling and turning on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines to complete complex parts in one go.
4. Post-Processing
Conduct treatments like deburring, sandblasting, anodizing, electroplating, and painting as required.
5. Quality Inspection
Inspect critical dimensions using equipment such as CMMs and 2D optical measuring instruments.
6. Safe Delivery
Attach the quality inspection report, securely package the parts, and ship them out.

What We Can Deliver for You:

High design freedom
5-axis simultaneous technology can complete the most complex geometries in one go.
Micron-level precision
We stably achieve strict tolerances of ±0.005mm.

Option C – 3D Printing

When speed is your top priority, and you need to validate designs, test assemblies, or create conceptual models, 3D printing becomes the preferred choice.

Solution Workflow

1. File Preparation
Optimize and slice 3D model files to match the printing equipment.
2. Batch Printing
Consolidate orders from multiple clients for efficient batch printing on industrial-grade SLA, SLS, and FDM equipment.
3. Post-Processing
Perform processes such as milling and turning on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines to complete complex parts in one go.
4. Rapid Quality Inspection
Conduct basic appearance and dimensional checks to ensure consistency with the model.
5. Agile Delivery
Quickly package and ship via express delivery.

What We Can Deliver for You:

Ultimate Speed
Receive physical models within a week.
No Structural Limitations
Easily produce complex internal structures such as hollow designs, lattices, and integrated moving parts.
